At vocational counselling
What can vocational counselling do for me?
Vocational counselling by the Federal Employment Agency provides support for choosing a job and for your search for vocational training. The vocational counsellor answers your questions in a meeting.
You have the possibility to talk about your wishes and ideas about a job. If you are unsure whether the job is right for you or how you can obtain the vocational qualification you want, vocational counselling is an important point of contact, as well. The meeting is confidential and free.
The vocational counsellors are familiar with the training offers near you. They can give you important tips for your job search and place you in training. Your vocational counsellor also informs you about prospects on the training market. Furthermore, you will receive help with your application. You can also find out which deadlines you have to observe.
How to get an appointment with vocational counselling
You can make an appointment by calling the phone number 0800 4 5555 00 (the call is free of charge).
You can, of course, also visit your Employment Agency and make an appointment personally. You will find your Employment Agency [Agentur für Arbeit] under www.arbeitsagentur.de at "Find your branch – Postal code or town" on the left on the start page. Enter the name or the postal code of your town of residence there. This way you will receive the requested address.
Vocational counselling helps you with these questions:
- Which training suits me?
- Do I have the aptitude for my desired vocation?
- Vocational training, continue going to school or use other opportunities - what is right for me?
- Which options do I have after my vocational qualification?
